Dr. Flewellen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco; a Masters of Business Administration degree in Management from Golden Gate University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration, with a specialization in Management and Leadership, from Walden University.  Olivier has extensive experience in financial accounting, budgeting, management, business leadership, and working with internal and external stakeholders. She also performs financial reporting and audit consultant services for state and local government entities.

Ms. Flewellen spent 12 ½ years with an investment management company as Manager of Financial Accounting and Manager Information Systems and 6 ½ years public accounting experience with KPMG, LLP.  After 22 ½ years of service, Ms. Flewellen retired from the Port of Oakland where she held the positions of Accounting Manager, Port Controller, and Director of Finance.  In 2013, she joined the University of Phoenix faculty teaching accounting, leadership, and management courses.  Dr. Flewellen is currently a faculty member in the School of Business and Technology at the College of San Mateo.  She is an Adjunct Professor teaching accounting courses, something that she truly enjoys.
